Surprise Party

This is a little late, but this story must be shared. Quite some time ago Holly and our friend, and her co-worker, Olivia began organizing a surprise party for me and Olivia's partner, Rob. Rob and I have birthdays within 5 days of each other. They decided to make the party Willy Wonka themed and took it to a delightful extreme. As invitations, they printed out Wonka Bar labels and re-wrapped Cadbury chocolate bars...along with a Golden Ticket! The ticket was a wonderfully rewritten version of Willy Wonka's invitation to his chocolate factory. The factory, in this case, was a bar whose back section Holly and Olivia had booked for the occasion. The 'factory' was decorated with pictures, balloons, and of course lots of candy! Holly disappeared Saturday evening and sent me a text message a few hours later telling me to be outside our building at 6:30 to meet a cab. The taxi took me to the 'factory' and every-single-person we know in New Zealand was there waiting. Rob showed up, equally dumbfounded, a few minutes later to equal fanfare from his own contingent of friends and family. It was truly a night to remember. Holly has done it again. Yet another example of why she is perhaps the sweetest person on the planet.
