Akaroa French Fest

We went to French Fest last weekend in the quaint town of Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula with our friends Olivia and Rob. It was a beautiful drive and a beautiful town. The visitor center calls Akaroa the French Riviera of New Zealand. There were booths selling crepes and local wines as well as wandering accordion players and jugglers and what not. We stayed most of the morning and into the afternoon, until it got too crowded. We then took advantage of the hired car and went to the grocery store to buy all the heavy things we never want to take home on the bus. It was great to get out of Christchurch for a little while and see more of this wonderful country.
