It's been raining in Christchurch for the past week. It is a very Germany kind of rain where you can't really see the drops, but you get wet. We are making do, but it is hard to wash clothes when you don't have a dryer and it's raining outside.
We are still having relatively slow times in NZ. We have made the transition from vacation to real life and consequently do not have stories of holidays and fine restaurants. We do, however, have stories of free art galleries and good people. We went to the Christchurch Art Gallery (which is directly across the street from our flat) again yesterday to further explore the exhibit with the inflatable bunny rabbit that showed up in some of our pictures recently. We found out about another bunny that we missed in the back of the exhibit. This one is sitting upright and peering at you curiously through a doorway. It is so nice to be living less than a block from the two largest art attractions on the south island.
Andy's job search is continuing. I have applied for a couple of great positions that I have yet to hear from, but I'm staying optimistic. I picked up a little bit of work Monday babysitting for one of Holly's coworkers. I played boardgames with two 8 year old girls all day and got paid for it!! Things got a little panicked when they decided to play a subtle version of keep-away in which I was continually "it." I lost track of them for just a second when the dog broke loose and they got up onto the roof! And I think I might have cooties...
We miss everyone back home. We would love it if everyone would email us pictures!

hope things dry out for you...
we are having a strange spring, lots of rain here...mountains got upwards of 24 inches of snow last weekend, with more coming tonight...
intelligent office continues to keep me way too busy, sorry for not commenting in awhile!...
we miss you both very much!!
went to coachella and thought of you...saw Faithless, which was by far the best group there; even better than Bjork is you ask me, or DJ Shadow...
heard rumors of andy maybe getting a job with a local college, how is that going?
love!
micah
The rumors are true. The position closes on Friday. They will pick a small group for interviews, then hire someone. I haven't talked too much about it because I don't want to jinx it. The actual job is the research coordinator for the psychology department of the University of Canterbury. I also have a meeting with Randy Grace, the prof I want to study with, on Friday. I'll post something over the weekend with the results.
